TURN-KEY

Many departments and agencies piece out the work required to their response vehicles to multiple vendors.  The impression is that it is saving money which may be true at the initial build but when problems arise the cross responsibility usually leaves the department or agency stuck with the repair bill.  Other departments have their public works or fleet services do conversion up-fits but this usually takes time because their first obligation is to keep the city fleet operational. 

Established in 1979 Odyssey pioneered the SUV Response Unit and currently manufactures Tactical, EMS, Command, Law Enforcement & Homeland Security  vehicles based on sport utilities, vans, trucks, light rescues, trailers & specialty chassis assuring the highest quality and workmanship in the industry.  Services include but are not limited to:  electrical, emergency lighting and equipment, custom interiors and cabinetry, communications and video equipment, custom body modifications, paint, graphics and much more. 

Odyssey can also supply the vehicle, install customer supplied equipment and deliver a complete vehicle ready to go “In Service” when it arrives.  All vehicles are manufactured in our 33,000 square foot facility in New Jersey and transported to the end user via truck or car carrier. Roseville Fire Department in Northern California purchased their first “Turn-Key” Odyssey Battalion Chief unit in 1993 then again in 2003. 

In 2007 the department was growing so they ordered four units.  In 2008 one of the vehicles was involved in an accident totaling the vehicle.  The city has had such good results buying their vehicles from a company that stands behind their product the wrecked truck was sent back to New Jersey for all equipment to be transferred onto a new Suburban.  Upon completion the newly up-fitted Suburban was transported back to Northern California and delivered to the city fully operational, communications equipment in place and wired up and ready to go into service. 

The Fire Department and Apparatus Fleet Technician said they would not buy any truck unless it was built by Odyssey.
